Has it already been almost a whole year since the last chapter? I still vividly remember the last chapter, which I can’t say the same for a whole lot of other series.

I can't remember a thing about this series, don't think it was good. Don't remember why I followed it.

Reading this chapter, I'm dropping it. The worldbuilding feels garbage, he makes a ton of leaps regarding basic policies and is a smug cocky ruler where things just happen without even excuse explanations, silly even by isekai standards. I can't tell if the translation or author is bad, probably both.

Also, the whole "idk who oda is" crap is such wasted drivel, it's a jp autho, jp readersr, why waste text inventing some mc who sprews about not understanding oda when both the reader and mc know who he is

Oda would have been the better protagonist

Dropped

Thanks for the translation !

It's fun enough but damn, it feels like it's rushing through some parts so fast that at a few points I thought you skipped some pages XD !

About tax, some parts are lost in the translation.
Based on the manga raw...

What Nobunaga suggested is actually to abolish tax for opening business. Try it in smaller area first.
The common practice in their world is probably to tax business by their establishment. It's easier, and the lord doesn't need to care about business condition (or watching out for tax evasion by under-reporting). If a merchant has a store, he must pay even if his account book is red as a fire truck. The bald merchant told his friend to quit the idea of opening a second branch at this business climate.
But the bearded merchant showed the announcement about not having to pay tax for opening new branch.

Instead, tax will be collected from part of the merchants' profit.
Get money from those who do have money.
It's like the typical tax reform in isekai story where they change from head tax to income tax.
So what they do is to lower barrier of starting or expanding business. If that means the economy grow, they can expect larger income from the sales tax.

Geez so TL;DR it was to move the tax from some flat startup cost into percentage of revenue
That definitely makes more sense than "we're adding tax lmao"

Is he taxing them along with the royalties or cutting it cause increasing the taxes won't ever give any incentive to those traders

@yeetmaster6981 The LN gives more info, but long story short, it's similar to what other isekai manga do with taxes. Instead of charging a huge fee to open a store, they just have a percentage based tax on the merchants' profits.
