@givemersspls The difference is that in Iris Zero the guy was actively bullied and severely ostracized for something that he didn't have and couldn't do, while here the guy was the one with a special ability that was a potential danger to other people, who avoided him out of self-preservation and not out of malign intent; on the first one the guy had a greater knowledge about relationships and a better handle on his feelings, hence why he was troubled, but here the guy outright doesn't know about how feelings works, what with his personality being like that and all, so he decided to consult a book and followed what it said to him (the book said it was love, so it must be love). There's also the fact that it seems like the aloof personality runs in the family.

@givemersspls Oh there are similarities indeed, both guys were ostracized at a young age for reasons involving supernatural powers and ended up having a loner personality due to it.

However, they reason for the ostracization are pretty opposite: the MC in Iris Zero was ostracized due to NOT having powers that everybody else had, turning him into a black sheep that was ridiculed and hated because of the unfounded fears that the kids had, despite him being unable to harm anyone; here it was a severe discrimination that was not his fault, leading him to becoming a loner that wanted nothing with people that was more than necessary. Also, he DID have a friend that knew him well and stuck with him in hard and rough times, so he wasn't that much of a loner.

Here the MMC is the one with the power and everybody else is a normal person, a power he cannot control and just happens every time somebody touches him, leading to a potential catastrophe for the poor bloke that touches him (as you could see with the blond guy in the first chapter), and in a country that values social standing and wearing a mask (breaking the Tatemae and exposing the Honne) at all times, this is pretty deadly; here it was discrimination that was his fault but cannot actively control and never intended to cause trouble, which coupled with people getting away from him, led him to becoming a loner that actively avoided people in every way possible. And unlike the other guy, he was absolutely friendless until the FMC came and got him out of his shell and made him see that he wasn't dooming people all the time and that there was a positive outlook to his power.

As you I said in the beginning and you said in the end, there are similarities and differences, but where you see more similarities I see more differences (while still being pretty similar compared to other people).

The book should have a note that says, “if you’re reading this, and your name is Shimada, the (police) car is already waiting for you.”

I'm a little bit confused about the ending here. Is he really in love with her or did he say "It is that huh" in reference to his sister buying magazines in his clothes as shown in the next page? Was it written like that on purpose just to confuse morons like me?

Is it wrong that the moment the boy said he wants her to meet with the rest of his family, i instantly thought that he was proposing to her? XD

@semon_demon, the page with the sister buying the magazines is an extra story page, evidenced by the self-contained title in the top (just like in 4-komas). So it's safe to assume that it wasn't meant to directly linked meaningfully to the main story. Think of them as different chapters. In summary, i do believe that at the end there the boy realized that maybe he is in love.
