Just IMO:

• She was mainlining Yutaka scent from laying face down in his pillow.
• Because of this, and/or just taking the time to lay down and think about things, she realized what was going on, that she likes likes Yutaka (she has since the cliff climbing, but it hadn't registered in her meathead).
• Now suddenly aware he's a guy and she's a girl, she then realized in retrospect what she'd been doing earlier.
• KABOOM

She had noticed that when she's around Yutaka she starts being a little weird and wonders why he's so important to her (per chapter 50). So she's investigating, and friendly canines rub against each other a lot. Aaaaaand then see above.

I was honestly expecting Onee-san to be kind of a hindrance (it would be funny), but she's great since she immediately knew Tsumiki's a Catch! And she's a Short Haired Ara Ara Onee-san (or at least one Ara). Wonder if she's available?
