I feel like Alfred and the mage might have gotten a proper redemption arc in a different manga. The old bastard's fucked in all but the fluffiest of tales.

I suspect they might survive, with a majority of their bones broken, because the little girl seems the type to forgive a lot more than she ought to. Plus it would lead to her achieving legendary status as the little witch who controls calamity level ogres.
