Keios is really holding onto this idea of being engaged without really trying to make any effort to communicate his feelings to Nicole at all. I'm really not convinced he actually cares about her at all, just some fanciful idea of her being a perfect and demure woman for him to marry.
Specifically, the last chapter kinda tells us that he wants a damsel to protect and be a knight for, so her being an independet being with her own agenda must be a huge bummer for him.
Introducing a new character with their first few lines just being misogyny is an interesting move, especially if the author wants us to ever like him.(i trust the author enough to think that wont hapoen without significant character decelopment first).
However it would be really funny for the certified women hater to get the scholarship and travel to a much more progressive nation where he has to witness women being somewhat equal to men(his worst nightmare).
I do like that the 2 dorks that follow keios around to try to keep him from being a full on stalker are not only good fiancees but also just seem like genuinely nice dudes with a good head on their shoulders(in contrast to the other 2 student council members).
Keios having to deal with the fact that what he wants for his fiancee is something she wouldnt want is a nice first step towards redemption, but itll doubtless take a while till he actually figures out the solution.
Tha ks for the chapter!
