Thank you for the gourmet notes. Bird's nest looks pretty interesting, I wonder how easy it is to eat for an average tourist.
It's maybe a little pricey for what it is, and if you're looking for prepared, cooked bird's nest soup, I'd expect to find them on the menus of fancier restaurants (so, maybe a bit difficult for a tourist).
You might be able to find raw bird's nest in specialty markets, but for most of the common folk, their exposure to bird's nest soup is likely to be in little bottles. Those bird's nest soups would usually contain very little of the bird's nest itself, and be mostly sugar water.
