This really shows its age. Today strawberry daifuku is basically common fare that nobody would think twice about, but this chapter must have been originally from the time when it was still a relatively new creation.

Everyone that knows about Oishinbo would know that they will eventually get married anyway. Yuko's actions are just old-school jealousy that you can find in older manga. And from Yamaoka dennying about the "date", he got some feelings for Yuko, too.
