Tbh, I think about this one being partly Shiro's "fault" can be explained by, for most cases, you don't really need to go that deep when it comes to the history/details of the cuisine you're going to serve/eat (considering that many people that Shiro helped aren't even restaurant owners/cooks per se in the first place).….obviously the answer is the ingredient called “curry leaves”, right?
and you’re supposed to temper spices in oil.but if you can’t get good ghee then what’s the point, dahling
I love a good Japanese boxed curry base, but Niji is so annoying in this chapter. why even hang out with the gourmet weirdos if you can’t handle a single jab at your pedestrian cooking habits…
it’s cute when Shiro is cartoonishly optimistic about getting everyone to get along again with food. he’s so funny and genuine sometimes
I wonder if we’re supposed to see this incident as partially Shiro’s “fault”? like when he helps people with cuisine issues, he solves the problem that’s right in front of them, but he doesn’t necessarily dig deeper and get to a core of understanding for the cuisine as a whole? kind of a “give a man a fish” thing? the people he helps get good enough to earn the attention of gourmets, but they don’t necessarily have the breadth of knowledge to stand up in that world?
For me at least, I didn't feel any indication that this was Yamaoka's fault. It's just coincidence that Tochikawa was visited by Kaibara. He would've been fine otherwise.….obviously the answer is the ingredient called “curry leaves”, right?
