I guess we will. It seems he's set up as another sort of romantic rival for Yamaoka, but I dunno.

My guess would be if we think of the ultimate Menu as a Course Menu, its actually kind of horrible from a " this food leads into this food " sort of way.

Thats my guess, anyway.

I'm not sure if anyone here grew up with Doraemon, but the way I often see Dan compared to Yamaoka is like how I see Dekisugi in Doraemon compared to Nobita in the same manga.

In short:
Dekisugi: Ace in the school, the perfect student, subject of awe by everyone (like Dan)
Nobita: A total loser, a wimp, always ends up being the subject of ridicule by everyone (like Yamaoka)

Although I must point out that Dekisugi is genuinely a nice kid with no bad bone at all, while Dan is not so much, as we see in this chapter and going forward (though nowhere near as bad as the others like Kanegami, for example).

I think if I have someone in this manga that I'd like to dissolve in acid or just give a slow and painful death (even more than Tomii whenever he's fucking up), it's Kanegami, and you'll understand why.

Wait, I just realized that the man that appears on Volume 20, Chapter 187 isn't Kanegami, but a completely different person.
Even he also have the same hair style with Kanegami.

As far as I see, Kanegami is the closest one as the overarching antagonist on Oishinbo, with no redeeming qualities, unlike Kaibara.

He first appears on Volume 50, still a long way to go
