So, just letting everyone know that since this is a long arc that's going to run for the rest of the volume, I will have chapters out tomorrow and Tuesday as well instead of every other day like I usually try to do, mainly because I know that Wednesday and Thursday next week are going to be nightmares for me to try and do any work.

What... hot pot dish isn't unique to Japan. And who says China's version isn't as great variety in Japan? I'm hating this guy even more.

Seconded.

While I think that fondue is arguably the only notable Western equivalent to East Asian hot pot dishes, I sincerely believe that China has just as many hot pot varieties as Japan (or maybe even more), as Chinese hot pots are often divided into Northern and Southern-style varieties.

A bit of a weird posturing by Dan there.

I know. It’s wild to me that he thinks those of us in the west don’t have hotpot. What does he think stew is?

Many stews are exactly the same as hotpot. Also, the British have Lancashire hotpot. Fondue is not the only western equivalent.
