We already discussed he shouldve been fired but that wasnt even like slapstick hits. That was just..unpleasant.
One of my favorite things to eat, stekt/fried herring kind of just...comes with the lil bones just...like you cant avoid em cus nobody takes em out, at home or as streetfood. But outside of once or twice getting stuck between my teeth, I've never had issues.

Now to be fair to the writer, though, maybe it's actually the artist's fault who just thinks this is funny. Like since Kariya didn't look like an artist, he might have just wrote a text script and didn't actually storyboard anything. Unless he directly wrote directions for slapstick (like "Tommi beats up dude") in his script, it's very possible what he wrote was simply "Tomii got super mad at the employee" and the artist just went and drew that on his own will. Then Kariya just shrugs and okays it.
^ Literally this. Usually the slapstick hits would only leave that cartoon bumps, but the poor guy here had a black eye and a bleeding nose and actually looks more serious.

Never bother removing the small bones of fish like that. All that work for basically nothing. I eat them either fried, which makes the bone crunchy or stewed in a caramelized sauce. The fatty fish softened by the long stew paired with a sweet salty sauce and plenty of black pepper. Absolutely divine. Not to mention it works well regardless of fish quality
