Looks like Kariya has underestimated just how many of us would love to try anko katsu.

If Yamaoka thinks it's gross, I would wager that at the time of original publishing that anko katsu menu isn't a thing yet.

Adding unexpected sweet stuff into savoury food seems to be a much more recent trend. Things like "banana pizza with chocolate sprinkles" is something people would consider insane in the 90s, but nowadays I feel like it's pretty meh.
