It's so wild what happened to put this series on indefinate hiatus.
Basically the author wrote a chapter in which the people of Fukushima were forced out of their homes due to radiation leaks that happened after the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake broke the Fukushima power plant. Problem is this didn't actually happen, the efforts of the government and the power plant itself prevented any nuclear leakage from happening, making the whole area safe. But even when pressured by the late Shinzo Abe the author refuses to acknowledge the backlash to this misinformation and even went on to say that he was "writing the truth", like some sorta conspiracy theorist.

Yeah, this story is full of bad takes. One the recent chapter, the one about curry, claim that the restriction on whale catching is 'American conspiracy'. Even the translator need to put a TL note on that.

I still don't like that chapter where a husband keep goofing off at night and coming back late, and he blames it the wife cooking not being homely enough. Like, TF is that. Even if the husband can't appreciate the wife's cooking, at least just talk to her! Communicate, motherfuckers.

Even the takes about food were weird sometimes. Well, that's more tolerable though. If because all food manga in general will have weird food takes at some point.

Well, this is alarming.
So the whole site has been hit with a DMCA notice, and Oishinbo is one of the series affected.

Earlier chapters have been removed, but later uploads seem to still be available to read. The cutoff date appears to be 2 months ago.

I will continue to upload following my regular twice a week schedule, but it remains to be seen if I'm good to reupload the earlier chapters. I'll leave those alone for now, until maybe several months later to see how the situation unfolds.

Similar to Mugiwara, I will continue to upload as normal for now.

I still have all of my translated chapters and will re-upload them at a later time provided that the rest of it doesn’t get nuked.

That said, this is not the only place I’ve uploaded the earlier volumes that I’ve TL’d. Check the subreddit.

As a recommendation of a potential site, I personally really like Weeb Central as it's pretty user friendly and doesn't have all the awful ads.

Currently, I'm uploading on Batoto, though it's not up to where the Mangadex chapters were yet. I figured I could use this chance to update the fonts for my older chapters.

I haven't heard of Weeb Central. I'll give it a look.

I joined Weeb Central the day it was suggested to me on the subreddit, and I still haven't been able to figure out how to upload there. If you know how, could you give me a hint on it? I don't find it very intuitive at all...

As for my own TL, like Mugiwara, I've migrated to Batoto. The link to my TL, you can find on the Oishinbo subreddit. Given what I've learned about the removals, it seems that all the chapters that haven't been removed so far will be, so I'm not going to waste the effort of uploading another chapter here. I'll upload on Batoto from now going forward.

Sadly on Weeb Central, even tho it's the best manga page out there, only the admin can upload chapters since he's the only person working in the page. There's no way for you or Mugiwara to upload there so Bato it's prob the best option now.
