She was a terrible person yes
But she didn't deserve what she got
Honestly her mother is the reason she turned out the way she did
Not trying to say she didn't play a role in her own demise
But the mother's standards were beyond cruel and basically lead the way for her to have major issues just for her mother's approval
She a wonderful case study of how monster's are made
She's a monster that got turned into a monster by her parent and was really only defeated by a monster
Hopefully she can get some type of redemption because holy fuck the ending she got was way too fucked up
Far worse then what other characters got
She deserved punishments for her actions but not that...

man culture festivals must be quite something, i can't imagine any school i went to doing something similar/enough classmates that'd be willing to participate

I wonder if we are gonna see the mommy issues girl later on

I think she's still kidnapped but surprised it wouldn't be a plot point circled back around to "She made my life miserable, please get rid of her" to manipulate the guy into hurting touko

Serious question. If a student transfers out of a class, would the teacher inform the rest of the class?

serious post:
It would very much definitely DEPEND.
tl;dr: there might not be a formal transfer request made. If there was, the teacher might not know. Even if the admin and the teacher know, they might keep it quiet. Either because of a sensitive situation or it might just not occur to them.
So I don't know that the teacher would announce to the calss, but usually though someone will ask the teacher "what happened to STUDENT" and word woudl get out if there isn't any reason to keep a secret.
Students taking extended absences due to mental issues related to school/school work is not massively uncommon.

Longer theory crafting:
Before highschool, especially in a smaller/rural areas, enrolling a student without ID wouldn't be too much of an issue.
Highschool would be a stickier wicket.
If it was enrollment in another public school, there would almost certainly be records requests, etc.

Highschool is not mandatory for Japanese children, so you can just drop out and start trying to find work or do trades/apprentice stuff.

There are a fair number of private schools and some private schools that deal with 'problem students' - behavior issues, academic underperformance - and with a private school it is not for-sure there would be a records request from the old school, especially at the request of the guardian.

I forget what year Touka is in, but Uncle Feely could fudge Yurika's year and school and say she's a highschool first year just graduated from middleschool, and either bring a changed-date transcript or just convince the administration not to check records. he could also claim that she'd been overseas and there are n records to provide.

And if a request was made, they might ask. the ad
to try to summarize that:
Assuming Yurika did reenter the Japanese academic system under her real name, its somewhat unlikely her status would make it back to her original school. But if someone went digging, it likely wouldn't be too hard to connect the dots.
</serious_posting>

anyway, obviously Uncle Feely won't enroll her in normal school. He'll help her get back to her dream of being an idol by finding her an idol training program. And that's why she hasn't come back or contacted any of her other friends. She's too busy working hard at her dream and being in a loving, caring home environment. Its not because she's chained up in some basement Steven King Misery-style by an obsessed fan. Stop being weird.

The auther's note about "hoping she's still alive" is just a tongue-in-cheek reference to how hard she's been working at becoming a top idol.

Alive, most probably yes.
Mentally, that is open for debate.

I would really like if author would shed some light on her some time in the future. Despite how "dark" this manga has gotten she is the only one who got really bad ending. Sister and previous "daddy" are somewhat scarred but nothing bad happened to them.

I pray it is the same for Yurika.
Yeah the author is holding back with any big developments for now, it's mostly just slow burn creepy vibes with this manga.
Yurika's story has been the most notable incident until now, and she was just some side-character that got sacrificed for the sake of showing us what Touko is capable of.
I'm curious what's gonna happen with Mr. Ex-Daddy, I'm assuming the author has something interesting planned.

She's better than ok. Her abusive mom is in jail, she's away from her neglectful aunt, and with someone who care about her a whole lot and has cared about her for years. He not only rescued her from her horrible aunt but he also stopped her from doing something stupid and rash with that knife. And now that's in a loving environment with appropriate boundaries being set for her, her life has never better.

As for not attending school, OBVIOUSLY with everything that happened at school, and fears of bullying, she's just not going to that school anymore. It was obviously going to be a transfer.

Jesus you people. Just can't accept a happy ending and have to make it dark and sinister.
We will see her in final chapter being in happy marriage for the last psychological twist

I need a spin-off where she gets saved by a young, loving couple who adopts her because they can't have children. Dad is a badass firefighter who learned how to be a chef from his parents. And mom is a loving housewife who came from an angler family and has abnormal encyclopedic knowledge about fishing.

The story is about mom and dad deprograming her abuse through love. And then once a month they visit her new grandparents who spoil her lots.

Someone make this happen. Or we should start a kickstarter to fund the author or something.

It would be hilariously ironic if in the final chapters of this manga she comes back and finds out what the MC is about to go through with his crazy wife and daughter and tries to warn him, only for him not to believe her because of her scheme against him in the past.

Honestly it would be kind of funny if the guy that was creeping on Yurika ends up completely subverting expectations. Or maybe if he just refused to actually do anything to her because he's obsessed with her "purity" or something. From the vibes this manga has given off so far I doubt that'll be the thing but at the same time things seem to be going too well for Touko and her mom.
