But here is my interpretation I get from this chapter. What if her love to him is actually genuine, but to be together with him he had to pay the price of won't be having any offspring. What if guilt strucked her and wanted to do anything to repay him, and her daughter who we know loves her mother is willing to help however she can . . . And the rest is history.
