I guess either the original author or the translator was high on shrooms or this was an intentional wording to explain why the little girl will conveniently morph into a fully human so she can join Van's harem.

"They are half people, half mermaids." - Not sure if it's a translation thing or the manga being dumb, but... mermaids are already half-people... And this looks like your everyday stereotypical half-fish/half-person mermaid.

"No, those were ballistics." - "Ballista." Ballistas are a crossbow like siege/defensive weapon that he built for the village. Ballistics is a scientific field.

"After they see our ballistics?" - "Ballista." Again. (External) Ballistics is what happens when a ballista bolt is fired and (terminal) ballistics is what happens when someone gets fucking impaled by a ballista bolt.

Ok, Till should definitely be calling him Master Van. Also, Dragon with Shell just sounds stupid especially since the self-same translator was calling them Armored Dragons in previous chapters.

I can't imagine the translator would mistake "fish" for "mermaid," so I would imagine it's just a mistake from the author, who meant to explain the girl was a mermaid but replaced the half-fish with half-mermaid.

Oh... now I remembered why I stopped reading this. The translation is close to being complete garbage. I've seen worse but this gives me a fucking headache... reading an uncleaned but understandable translation would be preferable. Who tf starts a sentence off with the word 'says'?
