Definitely felt quite cliche to have that much of a bias towards certain types of magic. Surely there's merit to intelligence as already shown by the MC. Even if he can't actively use magic to go to war (or whatever the reasoning is), which noble house wouldn't need to manage finances or admin for land usage?

But, seeing as this trope is common enough, I assume it's just a device to get the MC to be independent and start his own territory development journey.

This translation quality is truly horrible. The other translator's chapter was much better. I'm grateful that it was picked up after the better quality translators seem to have abandoned it, but I can only hope that a group with a real proofreader goes back and redoes the early portion as well.
