dang i gotta look up the LN then. This story has an original and unique style, mixing in with body-horror, gore, and some lovecraftian elements, but the writing in this manga leaves something to be desired.

I felt like this series deserved my support, so I ended up buying the official translation of the first chapter from Book Walker. I have to say that it's much better than the manga, where the pacing and the plot feel kinda rushed.

Yes. It's amazing. Also, you'll note that there are only 4 volumes. IIRC, this is b/c of a publishing rights thing. A few months ago, the writer was told he could finally continue with the series as it all had been sorted and it would actually be published, so there will be a Vol 5 sometime...
