I'm the opposite. WNs are far less polished usually than something that had additional passes of an editor, plus some benefit of hindsight and future arcs. Can make it worse yes, but often cleans up plot holes and other inconsistencies, as well as slim down unnecessary wordage to keep pace consistent.
