@greyhud90 IT IS a long ass novel, there is so much detail written In it to the point of people getting sick of it and leaving the book, and don't forget ways of survivals MC was a regressor so the same scene would have happened multiple times and the MC would keep looking for the best option to defeat the scene, and a bit of a spoiler
the faith sword is brought up even at the end of this story so it isn't a trash sword in any way it has some proper strength behind it
.
One final thing, this story has to be one of the best ones I've ever read, stuff that don't make sense at all and look like stupid plot holes get explained in the end, so enjoy the ride and have some patience because the ending arc was a dam roller-coaster of emotions and enjoyment and was worth every second.

The art of this story doesn’t compare to Solo leveling even if done by the same studio . the fights scenes are lame In comparison , at least the story looks better with a more Interesting world building but not the masterpiece novel readers want to sell us.

Btw for novel readers how many chapters does the novel has?

@Datacollector the novel is 550 chapters, and this is only the 21st chapter. Don't expect it to be masterpiece or having mindblowing actions right away. What do the rest of 529 chapters do? SL has only 200+ chapters so obviously the plot move faster. The problem is that people who don't read the novel or at least past haft of the novel always sell this as "the next Solo Leveling" just because the art look alike. It gives out absolutely wrong expectation about this story. Just wanna say that this story is the total opposite of SL. SL has hype fights right in the first 20 chapters, ORV takes the first 100 chapters to introduce the world, theme and main characters. It's a more pretty slow-burn novel, but along the way there're many plot twists which nobody expect, so people like it. If you keep reading this with the mindset of comparing every single thing here to SL, I feel like you'll be extremely disappointed.

ok I think all novel readers should stop hyping this so all insecure SL fans can shut up. Less viewers = Less toxic fans.

@necromach I feel you, this is what I’m worried about lol. Still, the readers who come here to talk shit about ORV because it’s predictable or ‘weaker’ compared to Solo-Leveling will leave sooner or later. They’ll “get off”, just like how readers of TWSA left because it‘s “boring and predictable” much to the dismay of Dokja who eventually became the only reader of the novel.

The ones who DO stay to see the end of ORV will be graciously rewarded, and will understand why many novel readers urge to try this story out. I mean I’m one of the readers who got through the end. I can see why this story had a big impact in Korea. I try not to overhype ORV since some people have incredibly high standards. At the same time, it’s kinda hard not to hype it since ORV is one of the best novels I’ve read this year. This is a personal opinion lol most of the shit I read are just romance with the occasional light-hearted isekais. I’m a huge sucker for self-aware, genre-savvy, meta plot lines that have stories of companionship with NO obligatory waifu love interest or dumbass harems. ORV is a gorgeous (planned?) mess and I love it.

This story isn’t for everyone but I hope they give it a chance without being so critical over the tiniest things. Solo-Leveling fans, especially. They treat that story like a bible lmao. Never read it myself but wow, comments about that damn comic is EVERYWHERE even in the official ORV Webtoon. “Wow this reminds me of Solo Leveling! Anyone think of solo leveling?? This guy has black hair and is Korean?! It’s like the solo leveling main character” it gets tiring oh my god—-

@Sabinaa
it didn’t take him 10 years to read it he was just limited to 1 chapter a day considering (spoilerception incoming) that the author was as limited as he was because its a human being and not some cosmic being

This was a terrible chapter to open up while reading. Good chapter, it just doesn't mix well with food.

And also.
Tentacle hentai gone wrong. Le shudder.

Solo leveling is a mediocre novel with mediocre plot and story.

The only good thing about it is its art (amazing) as well as the badass moments of sung jin woo. Little to no character development, most of the story is focused on sung jin woo.

Its complete trash and overhyped but very easy to get into.

Do you guys actually like this sort of thing? Where the entire story is humans eat each other in the apocalypse, oh but there's video game mechanics that space alien streamers enjoy watching for some reason and our main character knows everything about the setting thereby defeating all tension because he magics a solution out of thin air that he knew the entire time.
Back in the day people generally had to build a world/premise from the ground up and have the hero slowly learn from innocence, sometimes winning, mostly failing and learning from their mistakes. We've kind of lost patience for that haven't we? And skipped straight to the instant gratification of following an OP generic male lead who has nothing left to learn because he is familiar with every aspect of the "system".
