So many chapters devoted to the Oz competition, with events occurring in the background that paints her as a villainess, when she could just withdraw and say something like: "Someone is making it seem like I have done such a thing. In order to preserve my honor and show that I had no hand in this, I hereby withdraw from the competition."

Simple, and ends the drama. Granted, I assume they would find a way to drag her back into the competition, but there is no reason whatsoever for her to actually compete.
