That was hell of an emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes the plot was so tense that I would stop for 5-10 minutes on each page with a lump in my throat cuz I was genuinely afraid to read on. Tears were shed multiple times too. This was something I don't even have words for.
Probably (one of) the best main character development story(ies) out there. It's inspirational as hell. Kurosawa is an insanely lifelike character. Wouldn't be surprised if this manga is an autobiography.
This gem definitely deserves more attention.
11/10, so peak

I wouldn’t glaze this (pun intended) as much as everyone else here, but some aspects such as the redemption, and I suppose the lessons learned, were good. What’s not as good is the fact that the vehicle that the author used to sow/create suffering was a bit fucked. Meaning, the gooning. Wouldn’t wish those incidents on my worst enemy (I’d probably wish something a lot worse).
Good anti-goon read I suppose for some 17 year old shut ins who need another perspective on life.
hmmm the amount of gooning really does put me off this gets maybe a 6.5/10

As a newgen reader, and I've read more than 100 manga in my mangaspam phase. This is the true best representation of development that I've ever been shown. A true gift to be able to read this manga.

Honestly this isn't the kind of ending I expected for a manga of this name and now I feel guilty because I wanted a story with way more comedy, drama and negativity instead of this redemption arc, like maybe a bad ending for Kurosawa.
But I think that development deserves praise for being so unexpected yet so enchanting, like if you put a hundred other people to write a story with this premise I don't think even one would make an ending like this.
Although I felt like Kitahara got left in the dust a bit there even though she's the second mc. Seeing more comedic moments with her and even showing more of her own redemption arc rather than just opening a door would have left more of a satisfying ending in my opinion.
Or just getting to know more of the secondary characters in general instead of just showing how they relate to Kurosawa.

Also on another note, I can sort of see why things didn't turn more comedic or dramatic as I expected.
Kitahara and Kurosawa's relationship was going nowhere, in another story you would maybe see them getting together and helping each other in ways they didn't expect but at the end of the day they were bad for each other.
Their revenge plot and misdeeds were just plain pettiness at best and nothing would have changed, Kurosawa would still be a resentful asshole and Kitahara would just keep getting bullied.
But talking about that it makes me think that maybe things were just too convenient for that redemption arc. If a person did what Kurosawa did in real life they would just get expelled, get put on the sex offender registry and have their life ruined. Specially someone shown to be a loner like Kurosawa.
So it seems unrealistic that people would just forget what this gooner did to them, specially his first victim that somehow ended up with him.
Still, I think Kitahara's arc is unsatisfying since she only stopped getting bullied after causing a scene and becoming a shut-in, only being able to come out of her shell thanks to a redeemed Kurosawa.
Kind of sad, honestly.

I loved the art and loved the story
All though I wish the story ended sadly
And I’m confused on how he didn’t get expelled for the stuff he did

6/10. The history is deep, psychological, depressing in some moments. The way the character has an useless hability that turns into a superpower. All the features the character had for being worked at (his asocial behavior, his arrogance and his sexual compulsion) but the ending is so bad and rushed it made me 🤮🤮. Like:
1. The way school deals with the harassment (not doing anything about it) and the teacher forgiving his behavior.
2. Kurosawa deciding to be mr. Goody goody out of blue
3. The way nobody knew about Kitahara's envolvement and the true reason they were doing this
4. The way Takigawa never found out about Kurosawa's feelings.
5. Nagaoka simply forgiving the guy that harassed his gf.
6. Kurosawa becoming friends with the class he didn't even give a fuck to begin with.
And finally, the most enraging one:
7. Kurosawa dating with the worst buller of Kitahara, which he disliked himself. What a friend!

The history was doing good but it ends with a lot of loose ends and the "lesson" it tries to teach is really annoying. I think it would have been more interesting if Kitahara exposed his secret or if he told everything about Kitahara. I wish Kitahara's bullying was better worked on and that Kurosawa dated with Kitahara at the end or with anyone else but the buller girl.

The ending still pisses me off after all these years, NTRing Kitahara for Sugawa is the worst disservice you could ever do to your readers. Choosing the girl who caused all that fucking emotional trauma for the MC and Kitahara completely defies any moral logic at all. The MC conveniently forgets that Kitahara was driven to multiple suicide attempts and yet he still has the gall to make her go to their class reunion to face people that only treated her with malice. The message that that the author tried to convey was that Kurosawa needed to correct his flaws and confess in order to "grow up" and be accepted. Yet somehow, the rest of the class is conveniently exempt from this in relation to Kitahara's treatment. None of the MCs classmates face any consequences for bullying Kitahara (in fact, most were rewarded for it in a sense) yet the MC is the one who is forced to change even though his actions were acts of retribution. Anyone who thinks this manga has a "good ending" is completely detached from reality. The only saving grace is that the art style was refreshing to see.

shit manga 3/10
100% agree. Kurosawa dating the worst Kitahara's buller of them all is enfuriating. The author lacked empathy with her a lot.
