It's not super uncommon, based on what I've seen of "we're just gonna be sexfriends" turning into a romantic relationship - or suddenly breaking off when one person tried to make it a romantic relationship.

There are some people out there that just can't seem to have a physical relationship without it eventually turning romantic. It's probably got something to do with oxytocin and other hormones releasing when people fuck, due to biological evolution to promote pair bonding.

I'll find it disrespectful and insulting to engage in sexual activities with someone you don't even want to commit to as a life partner.
