Okay, chef as a baby makes me uncomfortable. Also, his parents did that to him by playing favorites because he is a boy.

Ngl baby Hee soo is effin cute

Blatant favoritism right there. At least we got a glimpse of their family dynamics, and clearly they're pretty outdated in their customs

Still waiting on Yoo-Il telling Moo-Yi it's her birthday. If she fails to deliver I'll jump favorites to Dahong as best girl. Lol

Thanks for the chapter Cinnamonroll scans team!

to the sisters, especially the eldest bc she looked mature enough, they should understand that it wasnt chef's fault he was favored by their grandma, and parents. they gain nothing bullying chef. they should be working together with chef instead to educate and/or rebel against those adults.

God every time I see this kind of setting I feel the cringe because it's too real. People still treats daughters like garbages these days in Asia countries since they said daughters are good for nothing, will gain back nothing when they are married off to another household. I read threads and comments that women being casted asides and badly treated when their new younger brother came in all over sharing sites. Families that are rich or upper middle class to middle class can get them through colleges and ease off on some aspects but poor families would force their daughters to give up academic career to join the work force early to save up money for their son or would force the elder daughters give up their properties in order to get the son marry to some girl.

That won't justify how they act towards their little brother but just giving you the context to understand why they think that way and it's lucky the chef became a good kid, many kids got spoiled to rotten due to the mysoginistic traits of the old thinking.

The only ways that the daughters came from these kinds of family to break free is either accept their fate and stay that way or just rebel against their family and cut all the ties, runaway to another city and be you on your own. My mother was the same but she got the short end of the stick since she is the second child of a 3 children household, both of her brothers getting the options to go to college but she was forced to give up on her scholarship to became a factory worker. Well she obviously chose to ranaway but I'm just glad after all the hardship she still chose to forgive everyone. Not everyone can be like that, to forgive and to move on. So I understand how they feel

Awww, I hope Chef-nim isn't a bad guy after all (though he still shouldn't win Yoo-il's heart).

I kinda want to see what is what Hee-Soo's older sister did to the cake he was decorating, though...? (although, it is implied she "fixed" it similar as the one she was making?).

But dear god, his family is too shitty. I feel for everyone's families here, tbh. Although it's understandable that Hee-soo's sisters didn't quite like him cause of favoritism, that doesn't excuse them to act the way they did towards him :/, ESPECIALLY since the resentment goes WAY up until the present day. Geez.

... however, regardless of all of this, it still doesn't make me think he is completely "free" of suspicious thoughts about the whole ordeal about Moo-yi's stalking (even if it was by pure coincidence and mayhaps he didn't play a more suspicious active part into it). But I somehow expect that his particular interest in him is probably "relatable" stuff and so, and so. Probably. Hopefully. Buuuuuut, at least we know he he relates a lot to Yoo-il now, and that's a good start, I guess? At least it looks he caught those feels (finally), lol.

@Banhchuoi man, i'm glad things worked out for your mother, it makes me sad to hear that sort of thing is just that ingrained in the society of some countries. i think i agree with most people on this thread though, it doesn't excuse their shitty behavior toward him but i at least get why they're showing out the way they are toward the chef. (it's also ironic, i'm fairly certain them treating him the way they did is what led to him rebelling and becoming a chef instead)
