brings a tear to the eye thinking about just how right Rocks ended up being about the WG using the giants. From Carmel “making peace” with giants who’d eventually join the Marines, to Oimo and Kashii working guard duty at Enies Lobby, to even right now in the present with Imu and the God’s Knights trying to forcibly turn them into tools of war again :angery:

Roger at least got to learn he was a few decades too early to be someone like Joyboy to the world, I assume Rocks died before getting any such closure

Really fun chapter. Shakky in love with Rayleigh. Roger is different than Luffy in that he actually interested in women (tbf he did get married or at least have a son later). Rocks feels even less villainous in how right in some what he said.

Hopefully we get to see the full story of God Valley, though I'm still unsure how its related to Loki being branded as criminal in Elbaf.

Man it's funny seeing more contradictions with Luffy and Roger. With Roger, when he found out that Shakky liked Rayleigh (and the feelings were mutual), he was upset with Rayleigh because Rayleigh didn't want to settle down and instead chose to stay with the crew. But with Luffy, when he initially found out that Sanji refused to married Pudding to stay with the crew, despite Pudding apparently loving him, Luffy was touched.

Overall this chapter was nice, especially seeing how most of the legendary pirates acted pretty civil to one another, something that I couldn't even imagine in the current time. But man, I really feel for Rocks in this chapter.

Ahh Harald, so naive. Man's got blinders though and desperately wants to believe he's making a better world by trying to join the WG. If only he knew.

Same. He acts grumpy, but deep down his heart is opening little by little. (which is happy. But also sad, because in the present he is still as hurt as ever if not more).
Him being blamed for his father's death and the other guards without trial or defense likely made him regress. He seemed pretty mature and well rounded at the start of his flashback when talking with Jarul.
