I think, from my understanding, Garp chose to stay in the Marines because its importance to the world order and wants to change it from the inside. He hopes to pass on the torch to his family but it ultimately goes to Coby, who has a perfect sense of justice.Well, I was wrong. Garp didn't know about these events. In that case, I'm interested in seeing why or how he chose to remain a Marine then.
Also, Kaidou stealing the Devil Fruit from Big Mom was incredibly gutsy. But man, each chapter of this flashback just makes me like Rocks more and more (I'm so glad he beaten Garling, even if the guy is immortal). And I'm glad that Whitebeard and Kaidou are joining him against Imu... I just hope it won't be a repeat of Apoo and X Drake's team up. All in all, a fantastic chapter, and boy does it make me wish that Rocks had met Luffy; just to see the shenanigans the two would've been caught up in.
I can only hope that it's because there are no more human hunts after this one.Well, I was wrong. Garp didn't know about these events. In that case, I'm interested in seeing why or how he chose to remain a Marine then.
Who said he was given the chance to refuse? Smoker is the hero of Alabasta and couldn't refuse it.Garp accepting that hero of the Marines title feels kinda vile after all this. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be some hero to this organization after learning what happened on that Isle.
Perhaps, I've just never seen anything to hint at him disliking the title.Who said he was given the chance to refuse? Smoker is the hero of Alabasta and couldn't refuse it.
god that moment with Rocks and Eris was so good, they aren't the focus of this story so I'll take what I can get but I would've loved to see how they met and grew close
Fujitora has done more in less than 1 year than Garp in 40I think, from my understanding, Garp chose to stay in the Marines because its importance to the world order and wants to change it from the inside. Pretty sure Rocks kept it a secret to his crew. The only one who we know was actually told of this secret was Harald. I mean, his crew only stayed with him because they were expecting massive profits in their journey, nothing more and I'm pretty sure all this is where all the money Whitebeard sent to his hometown so pretty much nobody cared if he has a family somewhere. Also, his crew are too cutthroat to be trusted with the secret and I'm pretty sure Whitebeard did kept a minimum distance from him so he has no one but Harald to confess his secret. What even is the point of Yamato's cover story. I really would rather the cover story be about Momo instead.
Did Whitebeard know that Teach is Rocks' son? When they first picked him up during Oden's flashback, he didn't seem to know. Maybe he figured it out later, which is why he didn't want Ace to go hunt down Teach after killing Thatch? We all know that familial bonds is Whitebeard's soft spot.
Damn, Kaido figured out his fruit real quick. Meanwhile, Kaku took some time adjusting to being a giraffe.
Wonder how many more chapters will this flashback continue. Like, when are we getting to Loki killing Harald?
