now i'm curious why mumen wasn't affected by the battle suits. wasn't he wearing one?

It was a gift from another group of neo hero recruits, they modified it for him. Its in one of the recent earlier chapters, they talk about how they all looked up to him and they are worried he will get hurt due to the increasing monster power.

This whole chapter just keep one upping itself, and Saitama wasn't even on it

How is this so much better than the adaptations?

Murata is the one who draws the serialized version of onepunch man.

There Suiryu is about to join the heroes association because of being saved by Saitama. He ends up checking out the neo heroes because of some babe he saw.
He tries on the suit and accidently breaks it when he flexes his muscles.
The suit was expensive, so he reluctantly joins the neo heroes because of his debt.

It was basically murata's way of saying that Suiryu isnt gonna use the suit, and will develop in a different direction than the web comic.

His was made custom, or he customized it himself, so maybe it's missing the control chip.

People who say this just don't understand. ONE respects Murata too much. People claim ONE is still the writer of Murata's adaptation but the fact of the matter is that he will okay any boneheaded suggestion Murata has for it.

Suiryuu is just about the only good thing that has happened from that collaboration after chapter 10 or so

The manga feels like an editor took a hammer and beat the crap out of the webcomic in terms of the plot and pacing. It might look pretty, but it became what it was making fun of a long time ago.

Guys, the reason Mumen Rider's suit isn't mind controllable is because Axel, who's also predominantly in this very same chapter, and his group made it custom for him, same thing for himself; that's all explicitly stated on page, please let's all band together and not become the DB fanbase and beat the "don't read our own story" allegations
