What really puts the bizarre factor over the top for me is when I reflect that this is actually character-driven comedy. Like really, at this point she's just going "OK, what kind of things would those two say and do together?" and the results are . . . yeah.

@KZO Hey, to be fair, I'm the one translating this and even I hadn’t considered them girlfriends until Koko said it. It's pretty rare to make use of that concept in lolicon series, outside of hentai.

@ScarecrowB True, but Koko talked about loving each other in chapters 18 and 19, somehow Minori didn't get that Koko wanted a relationship both times, even when she was being very clear.

Lolicon series that are also yuri are even more rare, it's a miracle this one exists and I'm glad it goes all out.

@KZO Well, it sure could have been interpreted like that, but in both instances Koko used the Koi type of love so I also thought, like Minori, that it was more about being all flirty with each other but without wanting to put a name to the relationship (yes, they both understood they like each other, but that doesn’t automatically makes them girlfriends). But in retrospective if the author was representing Koko’s lack of vocabulary (being a first grader and all) then yes, she might as well have proposed to Minori there and then. Still, I think Minori not considering it like that at the moment is a valid point.

@ScarecrowB Ah well, yeah, when you bring the vocabulary that one can't be conveyed the same in an english translation with all the different words for love and its different meanings, that could explain what what's going on in Minori's head.

The author (possibly) used the fact that the person confessing didn't have the proper vocabulary to express it properly, that's a genius use of the setting. It just wouldn't work in any other kind of story and it paid off this chapter with those adorable blushes.

@KZO Yes, that’s why I added that note at the end of ch19 about how we are handling the different types of love. Koi love is in regular font, ai love will be bolded and in cursive. And as a fun fact, the love used for this chapter’s tittle is the Renai love, so we have now reached full love spectrum. From future chapters check if the love word is bolded so you know it is the ai love (still need to think how to differentiate the renai love).
