Yeah, this may be one of those that got too complicated way too quickly, without setting up a proper foundation first. It just dove right into conflict without most of the details. Normally, if you do this, it is because the premise of the story is shallow. Something like a few chapters per each arc in which you get a new enemy to defeat with no significant plot progression. This was like all of that, but just for the first arc, then just switch gears to full on continuously introducing heavy shit (like international arms "grooming", posessions, etc...) without concluding any of it and writing it like it is already expected and had been established a while ago.
Maybe if this series took its time, built up a solid foundation for a setting, did some gradual world building, while not just being info dump after info dump, it could have gone farther. The premise was really good too (though maybe too similar to JoJo). Characters were somewhat interesting and not too cliche. Just the repeated info dump after info dump with no real progression and where any significant conflict is resolved almost instantly, this was bound to get axed sooner than later.
2 things I have noticed kill what would be good stories are introducing boring politics into an adventure/fantasy story and endless chapters of info dumps. These are not the only ways, but they have a pretty high success rate at getting a series axed. I wouldnt be that suprised if this gets axed soon too.
