I really don't like this trope of accidental culinary abominations. Those exquisite disasters would take talent and hard work (in all the wrong direction), not just being clueless. Also, apparently Miyo doesn't know you should break eggs before cooking. That's even more incompetent than "cutting cookies with a bowl" from the anime.
We could've had a bonding chapter with Kaede teaching Miyo how to cook slightly less terribly, but alas, all we get is silliness and flanderization.
That grumbling aside, I liked the little details in this chapter. Like how Nayutan kept the mesugaki routine with Mahiro, or how she armed herself with a pot and a ladle before going to rescue Momiji (...did she walk all the way from Mahiro's place like that?). Or how Asahi has PTSD.
I've read that children and adults have different sense of taste - for example, children prefer sweet stuff much more than adults (kinda obvious I guess). This handily explains why Mahiro enjoys sweets more now, although having a brighter outlook is a big factor too.
I'm not sure if in the end Mahiro is praising Mihari's cake so she doesn't feel bad, or if he's traumatized by what just transpired and a proper cake feels like a blessing. What do you think?
Finally, I started Blue Archive recently, and Miyo and Juri definitely have the same spirit animal (probably a tentacle pancake monster).
