P.S. I would've kept using Office 2003 myself if the newer versions weren't forced on me by the specifics of my work. Older office software tends to work snappier, and I really dislike the ribbon interface introduced in Office 2007.

Mahiro doesn't have any experience with how smart kids handle tests. They haven't needed to take the fable of the Tortoise and the Hare to heart yet. You gotta finish the test before you can sleep.
I can't relate with somehow being able to fall asleep before you finished the test. Not only so I have a hard time falling asleep anywhere bur my bed, but I'd keep having anxiety about not having it done.

I'm going to vote against gimp for something let this. GIMP is not very performant. I would recommend Paint.net. If PowerPoint is a reasonable replacement, then paint.net should be able to do anything you need and more.
