As we’re two volumes behind, i think it’s fine to have two translators. Maybe you could start from volume 8 though so the same chapters aren’t being translated twice.

to be fair, it's less "we're two volumes behind" and more "they just dropped two volumes basically at the same time". The scanlators aren't 'behind'; They have a regular release schedule. The anthology series just broke its own schedule is all.

Using this sudden multi-volume drop to imply the original group left the series hanging for two volumes is a bit of a misrepresentation, which immediately turned me off from this new group as that was their excuse for jumping in. There wasn't even any suggestion that they tried to reach out about it.

So unless the original group drops it (which would be a damned shame, as the quality of their work is very high), I shall wait for their releases.

That is pretty much the definition of a snipe. If you weren't happy with their release cadence, just say so, but don't pretend like you only stepped in because the series was abandoned, because it clearly wasn't.

I may have made the assumption that you didn't reach out to them about it, which would be a fair argument, though I'd say it's also a fair assumption to make given the circumstances and how you worded things. If you did reach out to them, or otherwise have an established agreement with them, then it's fine -- but you should say so, otherwise you're giving people the wrong idea.

That wasn't my intention at all.

I wasn't trying to snipe the series or compete with Daily Multivitamin. I translated it because I do this for fun. I had already translated the chapter into Vietnamese, so making an English version was just something I decided to do as well.

If people would rather wait for Daily Multivitamin's releases, that's completely fine. I'll stop translating the anthology into English and just stick to Vietnamese.

I'll also admit that part of this was on me. I wasn't familiar with the etiquette around scanlations on MangaDex, so I didn't realize this could be seen as sniping.
