@Legend13 Physical might is their defining characteristic as far as their folklore goes, they're basically personifications of strength and brutality. In tales where they are antagonists they are ruthless marauders that can effortlessly destroy and kill entire villages with little to no threat to themselves, such as in the tales about Minamoto no Yorimitsu and his retainers defeating the oni-king Shuten-douji and his band of oni that were plaguing Kyoto from their camp on Mt Ooe. After they were syncretized with Japan's adoptions of Hindu-Buddhism they became the wardens of the hells administrating the tortures upon sinners by Enma's order; they also became the guardians of Buddhist temples who would brutalize anyone who dares vandalize one. But in either depiction their might is the emphasis

Oni have a great deal of variety among them. Their most defining traits are: immense strength, different hued skin (blue and red being most popular), horns, differing sizes, and an intense love of fighting. Their favorite weapon is a Kanabo, which is an extremely heavy iron war club. They wield it one-handed. And they are almost completely nude, save for a Tiger-skin undergarment (purportedly to show off their muscles, as well as being confident enough to not need any armor). Sex and size are no factors to their strength: the women and tiny ones can still rip anything and anyone to shreds. And some even have special abilities on top of that. The Sazae-oni is a female turban snail that can swipe the testicles off men. And the ones in the underworld are even stronger, since it’s their home (and they’re employed to guard and punish the damned).

Basically their strength is between several grown men to near Superman/Saitama levels.
