Maxwell did not disappoint as a horrible parent. He reminds me of Zouken Matou from the Fate series, also a sorcerer obsessed with immortality and another horrifying "parent" from the franchises that I know of.

If ビッチ "bitch" was used in the raws, I reckon they actually called her a slut here, because in Japanese, ビッチ is a slang word that typically means slut/ho/easy lay; it has taken a different meaning from the original English slang of "nasty, overbearing woman". If this is the case, I think it fits just as well, not because of anything that Laplace did herself, but because the "legends" that Tanya heard were deliberately meant to slander her.
