Glad Tanya is on board with Laplace on this. Figuratively, she's Laplace's prince who has come to take her away from that high tower.

Breaking Maxwell's jaw is such a cheap price to pay for the unholy amount of suffering he made his daughter go through. Let's combine some the suggestions from the others: maybe turn it into a curse that breaks and repairs his jaw over and over, while he's imprisoned the same way Laplace was, with his magic restricted, or removed entirely.

And that's only physical punishment, it does not account for the terrible damage he's done to their society by skewing it full misogynist, crippling the long-term potential of their country by placing 50% of the population behind all sorts of discriminatory barriers, disabling them from achieving anything significant that might've helped their progress as a country.
