Genuinely, I'm having a hard time seeing the MC as a female. She's got twink energy, and it doesn't help that she sorta looks like a boy with long hair. Like, any level of curve would help her out even if it were just a tiny bit, but she's just flat front and back.

I'm guessing author will eventually reveal that four-eyes reject applications out of good intentions (like preventing a new shop going into an oversaturated sector that'll bankrupt its owner in a year or two), which gives Liliana a personal trial to overcome.

Liliana will overcome the trial by learning to ask for help/support from others, and four eyes will in turn reach a sort of reminder or enlightenment that makes him less of a hardass.

Could still make armor? It's a silly plot contrivance to set up the absolute best and then give them the menial work, but running a cutlery store probably makes a better story than a weapon shop.
