I know people who think like this. People I love with all my heart. At some point, you just have to accept that they will always think that's way. They've been in the culture of marriage is required so long that they won't change from it.

Marriage is not required and Divorce is not failure. You owe yourself more than just a quiet, unhappy marriage. Resentment grows and if there is a problem one party refuses to work through, letting go is perfectly okay.
