Wow, the MC has a bunch of pretty pointy objects to stab the princess in her neck and she does nothing. If she already decided to be a sacrifice again, why not take the bad guy with her?

Saved by people even more stubborn than she is. Sometimes, that makes for annoying characters, but sometimes it helps.

I can relate to not being able to sleep. On average it takes me about an hour to fall asleep, but that can mean I won't fall asleep for a night at all. It's better now at winter, though. Currently we get about six hours of daylight per day. Summer with the sun up most of the day is worse.

Did someone say... Yuri?!

Don't take any sus meds, I once was ordered to, to help regulate my blood flow, and had insomnia for two weeks as a medical side-effect. I think I was talking lots of crazy by the end of it.

Anyhow, Thank you for another update. Eager to see how it all resolves but too afraid to learn that it comes in the next volume or such!

Looks like a revolt is coming if there is literally no territory supporting her. And, jeez, how did the princess become so fucked up...

still super sad about how Shirley views her death...

if legal in your area, try pot the indica variety. I got myself a oral sprays 1/2 before bed and I'm out, no more taking 2h to fall asleep.

it's common in these stories for entire families or dynasties to be wiped out via execution if one of them commits a crime, so if she killed the princess as Caid's fiancee (or former fiancee) that could be used as justification to depose and kill him. her servants would probably die too

oh my god the princess is actually COMPETENT at her job that's SO fascinating
yeah, I mean, it sure is dramatized here,
but if we step back, even in our world, we can see professors, smart people, or even high ranking officials
who believe in things that are ... questionable at best
but they still can continue to socialize and function normally everyday
like in the 'A Beautiful Mind' movie

So she would die, and she's fine with that.
But then Jasmine and Samoa would also be executed, and she's not fine with that.
And that's probably why Caid wanted the two of them to stay with Shirley, to keep her from sacrificing herself.

Now, there's a risk here, but there is no safe path; every possible path has risks. But both Shirley and Caid think that this is the best shot. And besides, both Shirley and Caid do truly care for the people of their realm, and so will (almost) always act in the interests of the people of the realm.

A good chunk of what we're seeing is a criticism of aristocratic systems of power (or rather of inherited power).
  • Shirley and Caid fit the ideal of aristocratic rulers.
  • But reality is frequently like Shirley's parents, and Princess Batshit.
  • Which requires a revolution.
  • But violence and upheavals of revolutions, even if they are for the greater good, also harm some innocents (e.g. Shirley's original self).

im more impressed about the fact that there's FINALLY a villainess-aligned manga that shows a complex princess antagonist that isn't just "evil bitch pretending to be goodie goodie but is actually taking advantage of the men" or "stupid airhead who doesn't know how the real world works"

she's an actual politician! although, to be fair, in the real world a politician that thinks the world revolves around them tend to fuck the people over and not caring about embezzlement like depicted here so like i guess in some aspect, she really is someone who can only exists in fantasy lol

haha, the staple types of villains who have high ranks but their every action and plan makes us question how the fuck could they be appointed to that position in the first place

It's a little baffling that all of the prince's subordinates defected but none of the territories are siding with the princess, either. The idea that the subordinates just are so infatuated that she doesn't have to spend any money or do any favors to get them to do what she wants without directly ordering it (assuming she actually truly did not order her dad's death) feels like it should be some sort of magical interference, but the fact that none of the territories fold say that it isn't. Was the prince's hiring process so bad he just doesn't have any competent and loyal people inside the castle?
