I posted it in the discord as well, but the references to "Gold Class" should in fact be "Silver".
I mentioned this on some recently translated WN chapters, but manga Eda looks even more tomboyish than I had imagined.
Spoilers great and small ahead.
Also, Eda is unsurprisingly lying about her rank.
Also, she's the closest thing this series has to a main heroine. And probably a romantic interest in everyone's eyes but Lecan? At this point in the raw, they're technically engaged, but Lecan seems to just acknowledge it in passing and otherwise ignores it. There's considerable backstory to that, but Lecan's responses to the initial prospect of engagement were basically just "huh?" "what?" "Is that okay?" "Alright then, Fine with me."
Arios is best bro though, but he hasn't even shown up in the translated WN chapters quite yet.
her development causes Lecan to stall, his adventure stops and he has to babysit her. We're 12 volumes in the wn and still no progress to the main plot. Lecan's goal was to explore and also find his partner, but hes completely forgotten all about that. They also keep teasing us about the necklace story and Ruby, but that probably wont happen till Eda dies or something at this pace.
I don't think that she stalls him. Even without her, Lecan would still be in this town, since he wants to learn more medicine and magic under Shira's tutelage. Furthermore, since the first volume, Lecan has been a go with the flow kind of guy, who doesn't mind at all taking the time to do things correctly (he stayed a long time with Ruby, for example).
I really don't think he forgot anything, he's just not in a hurry, and wants to be sufficiently prepared. The only time he thought Eda would be detrimental to his goals - when Shira told him to teach Eda - he protested until Shira assured him that it would be good for his own development.
plot hole : why the 2 escosts dont just sit on the carriage instead of running on foot ? what if some bandits appear but the 2 escorts are too tired to fight back ?
So an old man needed to go the same city as MC just walks into a restaurant without eating, looks at MC and deducts that he's an adventurer and happens to be right, then asks him on the perfect job he needed him for. Only way this wouldn't look weird is if the old man was planning to get some random adventurer who probably wouldn't be that much trouble to deal with to make the merchant's guard down then take the merchant out in that window of time the adventurer is distracted or something.
Turns out that wasn't what's happening and the bad vibes all along was just the beasts grouping up.
@daywithoutgames according to the novel in Lecan's perspective, he thinks the merchants has something valuable so they must go to their destination as fast as they can. If she's on the carriage she'll just add more weight. He thought of her as just an amateur because she didn't consider this. Also, it seems like there's a translation error with this one since it says here she's a gold rank but in the novel she said she's a silver rank.
