When i started this manga looking at Lecan i would never... NEVER, picture him with that enthusiastic look in his face, it is amazing how this 7-foot tall mean-looking man can have such an expression that completely transmits the feeling of joy, he truly and sincerely likes to adventure. I really like it when an author can make a character have such contrary characteristics and make it blend with the character.

Contrary to what the troupe of isekai generally dictates i don't think Lecan will have such an easy time in this new world, this chapter points many of the details that will be in his way, even if there is magic its structure is different from his world, he lacks information that is practically common sense, the mazes behave in different ways and i doubt that this maze, in particular, is of the highest difficult i don't doubt there will be other challenges that will force him do adapt accordingly.

The sudden game-mechanics are really jarring (monsters poof into loot boxes), considering the level of realism the story had going on for all this time.
Yeah, the MC's former world was one which granted abilities and items in "dungeons", but I tried not to think of it as a literal game dungeon. This is a pretty big step back from everything the story has established thus far.

I see what you mean but this seemingly only affects monsters within the dungeon. Nothing he's killed outside of it has dropped any loot. I would be willing to extend this manga the benefit of the doubt that there's a compelling narrative reason outside of "it's like an rpg!" that dungeons produce items out of thin air, especially in a sword and sorcery universe. So long as we're not getting status screens, goddess "cheats" or harems this particular isekai is miles ahead of the next best one.

@Solipsist I think it will go into it a bit i'm sure cause mazes in Lecan's world were how gods of chaos tempt humans to seek treasure while risking their lives while this world is more like a game. Mazes and their systems might go into the gods in how they fuck with people. W.e I still like everything else besides this rpg'esque mazes

Yeah, I'm thinking that this is how the god of this world get people interested in the mazes - plus the fact that they all teleport away into it at the entrance makes me think that maybe people are crossing over into a different god's domain, so different rules apply (though the world rules still apply to them).

@Solipsist I would barely consider the chests a game mechanic thing because it definitely fits within a sword and sorcery universe with gods. Like @Vannn said, it wouldn't surprise me that mazes are meant for people to die in (Maybe for their souls?) and the temptation would be those chests. Seeing as to how this wasn't a thing in his original world and how it's confined to the mazes themselves I wouldn't consider this a game mechanic and it would fit in-universe. Now, if he starts getting game menus and stuff it'd be a different story. In fact, the most gamey thing this story has is the spatial storage box because traditionally that would be bag of holdings but I think that's more of an eastern vs western thing

@shmerdistor : try "Dungeon Meshi". Its not really isekai but the setting is similar. Although its seems like a cooking manga in dungeon at first but the plot will thicken later. It has good plot, great character development, and the best is the world building and ecology
