Why does she keep reporting everything to the guy she rejected?? Like, that has to be the most self centered plot ever. It would make sense if it leaned into her knowing it was him, but she clearly doesn't.

I think the point is that she doesn't understand her own feelings... but also yes, she's being selfish. I think a large focus of this story is the fact that she's NOT as well put together as she seems, and that she has a lot of growing and maturing to do.
