Author i know you need stakes and all but... HOW CAN ONE BE THIS FACE BLIND
If it was a smarter author I would say this is foreshadowing that she has a legit mental disorder known as "Prosopagnosia".
Prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness, is a cognitive disorder of face perception in which the ability to recognize familiar faces, including one's own face, is impaired, while other aspects of visual processing and intellectual functioning remain intact.
But since this is a japanese story, and Japan does not do the whole "mental health" thing very well, I know that is not an intentional plot device.

It's just another case of mangaka accidentally writing characters with obvious signs of mental disorders.

Like for example Komi, who the author was surprised when fans asked them if she was on the spectrum.

Mental health being taken seriously is a rather modern phenomenon. The "exploding" rates of autism some notice is mostly the result of people paying attention, with psychoeducation getting more spread. it is really more that there was severe underdiagnosing in the previous generations, or in japan's case, in current times still.
And yeah, Komi is just a case of selective mutism, probably unintentionally done by the author.

This is so frustrating.

Not only did he lied to the president, he is also spreading false truths to others (his childhood friend). He only let the other girl know that she confessed and he rejected, but hid the fact that it was to his disguise not him.

This just makes the president look stupid now (although she is) since she acts like he is lowly by being a playboy yet she confessed to him. Its kinda ruining her reputation (yes yes its only a few people that knows but still there were others who recognized him at the festival, do not underestimate hs gossip)

But the frustrating part is that he will get away with this. The president will fall in love with tsukiyama or whatever his name was, regardless of what he did, and whatever consequence he gets would just be light as they'll still end up together.

Unless author has the wits to actually make them ending up together justified and satisfying... or the balls to actually not make them end game couple.

You know what it be an absolutely amazing plot twist to happen next chapter? Tsukiyama and Kiriyama actually are different people. It's just that the former is tutoring a completely different girl that just happens to look similar to his Wolf. Because of that, Tsukiyama has ended up mistaking believing that he's tutoring Wolf, while she's now mistakenly getting the impression that her tutor is Tsukiyama.

The festival is probably the hardest to explain like this, but what if the scene we saw of "Wolf" asking "Kiriyama" to go to the festival was actually the Fake-Wolf and Tsukiyama set, where because Tsukiyama thought that he was tutoring his Wolf, he just went and met her at his own festival. Fake-Wolf was then just waiting alone at her festival like "Where the heck is he?"

The real Kiriyama might have been asked something similar by the real Wolf, but he responded with something more like "I'll see if I can," with Tsukiyama dressing up as "Kiriyama" and showing up being interpreted by Wolf as "oh, he did come!" while the real Kiriyama was actually not able to make it.

This is definitely the real thing that happened and there are no flaws in my reasoning. Nothing can break this theory, I tell you.

This will be interesting... because Tsukiyama never actually wanted to gaslight her. He was always so afraid his personal life getting outed at school and later hurting her, that he allowed things to snowball out of control. He's outright admitted (at least to himself) that what he's doing is fucked up and wrong, and even his attempt to "write out" his tutor persona was his attempt at minimizing her pain and protecting her dignity.

But now all the built up mistakes and lies, however naively well-intentioned, are starting to come apart at the seams. It's coming time to pay the piper, and I'm wondering what he'll do to properly own up for it.
