Shoehorning in that annoying ass character was NOT the only way the author could have written this, Oomori could have gotten confessed to by someone else making Yuu realize he needs to stop dragging his feet, or Itoko, knowing his "trauma" could have set up a scenario that would help him gain some confidence, maybe he could have overheard a conversation where Oomori admitted her feelings about him, honestly, we could sit here brainstorming all day, but the fact of the matter is the author chose one of the worst possible ways to handle it. The ending felt rushed, unnatural, and unsatisfying, especially considering the emotions that have been building up throughout the manga just get brought to a screeching halt due to the forced introduction of Yuu's hypocritical sister, and truthfully, it's not just her introduction it's how the author executed it. If Yuu’s sister had been written with more depth and her role had been integrated smoothly into the story, the ending could have felt satisfying instead of some last-minute cop-out. The entire manga built up Yuu’s struggle with expressing his feelings, only for it to be overshadowed by a character that wasn’t even properly developed. No need to dick ride wasted potential 👎
