I think the art style has its charm, but every time a character tries to give a serious expression it just looks like they are worried they're about to fart!

I can't believe I didn't realise this sooner. But the fact that the Dark Elves dressed in Napoleonic era uniforms, and now describing how flawed the command structure of the Elf army was; Has made me think they might be inspired by the flight of French Huguenots after the Edict of Fontainebleau was issued, with many encouraged by Prussia to resettle there, bringing lots of specialised skills and international prestige that would help the country grow back stronger after devastating wars in the past. That would mean the inevitable, one-sided war with the White Elves would be akin to the Franco-Prussian War.

The Orcs seem to be just way better lol, they can just carry way bigger guns. Humans and elves don't seem to be special here, wonder how they would combat this.

what does "Parachute division" here means? planes haven't been shown to be used, are they dropping them from balloons or dragons?
It looks to me like the standard orc soldier has pretty expensive upkeep. That kobold noted that a single orcish meal could feed him for three days. Bigger supply requirements means more fragile supply lines and that captured supply depots are a much bigger score for orcish opponents than orcs.

Orcs are bigger and stronger, with the benefits and downsides of this – the square-cube law is not their friend, so they’ll probably be the losers in protracted fights. Add in that humans tend to be the most enduring among the primates – humans likely take the advantage in longer running encounters.

Consequently, the orcish strategies are built around winning with relative speed and forcing the kind of head-on encounters they’re more likely to win – in a protracted fight, especially one with guerrila warfare, humans (and possibly elves) would have the edge.

Of course I might be assuming too much and the author might just be running "Orcz are the best 4ever, waaaauuugh", but I wanna believe they've considered these aspects…

yeah... 4000 grams of food is about 9 pounds... a day?!
just the 3 pounds of bread alone is about 4000kcal
and altogether you're looking at about 7500kcal, or about 3 people's worth.

Tbh, they have 3 huge problems. The first one would be how much food they eat. It would be a huge supply train with how much they eat and the quality. Putting a huge strain on the economy to keep them fed even more if more and more troops need to be sent to the front meaning fewer and fewer people to farm.

2: They are huge. Sure they can carry more and have bigger guns but the ammo they carry is more than humans or elves, meaning it is also a bigger strain on the supplies they have and more if they die. Also, they are a bigger target,t and finding cover or making cover is a lot harder for them. And last because of their size calvary is not a thing for them and that is a big thing. A good cavalry force could flank them without too much trouble and that is why the dark elves are given the role they have.

3: BUT the biggest thing that makes the other two not matter in the long run is that Orks birthrate is really slow. From another chapter, we know that a birth happens every 10 years. From the picture we have it seems like it is also only one child at the time. In the end, humans would outbreed them in the long run. They would need to win decidedly every time or slowly lose in the long run with that kind of birthrate.

tbh, from when Gustav explained to Dineru the war with human is coming after elves, it does seem like they are all aware waging war against human is something more dire than war against Elfinde, something they’d rather avoid, yet it’s going to be coming at them whether they like it or not.

Seems to be mistranslation. The kanji is 擲弾兵. It also appears in earlier page in this chapter, and the group translate it as “Grenadier”.

1st Grenadier Division is placed under the red army in this war game. While the 7th Grenadier Division is placed under the blue army.
