I was legit shocked that he just straight freed her immediately, because usually they do some "Oh, I want to stay your slave because Insert stupid reason!"

The fact that so many of Isekai where they keep a pet slave exist, and most of them are total wish-fulfillment self-insert stuff, should be TERRIFYING to most people.

It's not about what influences you, it's about what you seek out as a self-insert wish-fulfillment, and yes, if the comment sections on those manga is anything to go by, both in English and in Japan and elsewhere, then probably some of them would if they were able to.
