It's yet another "kicked out of my (group or gathering) because my cheat skill is not understood by anyone up front" setting, and it has video game mechanics. It's also post-isekai, as they straight up say they had a hero from another world. Additionally, there's several other generic tropes that you can find in pretty much every other series that has a similar premise. The only things that differentiate this series from the other mass-produced low quality shlock, as of chapter 3;
- Protagonist is handsome. Like, actually good looking.
- Protagonist used ice magic. You rarely see protagonists use ice.
- Protagonist isn't a spineless male lead who gets flustered when shown an ounce of affection. He's just oblivious.
- Skill has a silly name I've not seen before.
- He manipulates RNG and just selects drop items. If he wants it, he gets it, period. God I wish that was me.
The premise made it sound like he could just pick and choose whatever he wants to have, and so far that's pretty much what he did. If anything, the synopsis is completely accurate. The problem is, and this is the same problem every single series with this kind of plot, that his power makes him a god, and the author will need to do something every so often to justify him not being a god. The story's already been written into a corner because there's no actual room for growth outside of manipulating numbers that won't actually mean anything.
Art's nice, so I'll still read it. Doesn't stop it from being a low effort rehash among a sea of low effort rehashes, but maybe something good will help it stand out. It's very possible that this could be a diamond in the rough, but I won't get my hopes up.
