i mean… with a fmc like this, unfortunately i’ve seen this many times enough to realise that authors “have” to add a rival for the story to progress. even though a simple progress through the fmc maturing a little bit is more than enough.

No way this extra girl will win anyway so this new girl only acts to move the plot.

I know the FMC antics can't carry things by themselves for long, even with how amusingly over the top they have been thus far, but a plot-convenience "love rival" introduced within three chapters is just never not disappointing

one day there will be series mostly driven by characters' internal changes and motivations rather than external nudge factors with the subtlety of wrecking balls... one day :aquadrink:

This does not need a rival, at least not anywhere close to this soon. Watching main girl's shenanigans blow up in her face is wonderful.

Wow, I can't believe they'd refrance Katsuragi Keima from hit manga "The World God Only Knows!" (sic.) Maybe if she got his blessing and guidance she'd actually be able to get Eito to fall in love with her...

You say rarely, but it's kinda easier for other women to take attention and find attraction to a man, when there is already one gunning for him. Kinda like "She sees him as a good partner, there must be something, right?"
Nothing makes a guy more attractive than to be taken.

Ah yes, the "here comes the competitor" trope... As if this was realistic, haha. There are rarely several girls into the same guy at the same time, so why do they bring up this kind of shit all the time? Find a better excuse for making the story longer.
Wut?

That's actually the norm. Women are generally more likely to compete over the same popular guy than "settle" for what they consider a mediocre option.

EDIT: on second thought, I said "compete", but it's not even that.
Even more bluntly, a lot of women are more willing to SHARE the same popular guy than settle for [what they perceive to be] the lesser option.

Never saw this happen, which means: It either doesn't happen here or they hid it well.
