Not so sure what exactly is the truth or not because well this is the internet... Lots of speculations/comments of how theres hostility between Smiley and Stay at home. If all the disclosure left in the beginning and the end of the chapter are true i can say that it is understandable you wouldn't want 2 scans of the same series done (whoever uploads an update first generally would have more views) since the slower release gets significantly less views usually and if nobody/barely anyone looks at your scans it kinda feels pointless to put in that effort to even translate. With all that said... I'll read both scans (assuming you guys continue to upload and translate this series) since the earlier chapters would act as a refresher rereading it and with it being supposedly in higher quality/cleaned up more (grammar mistakes and whatnot I assume?). Not really going to comment on chapters since I generally just log in and anonymously read updates of many different series.

Just my 2 cents as a random person on the internet I have no relation to any of the people scanlating this series, just find the random drama between scanlation teams/people to be quite hilarious actually and when it piques my interest enough I actually comment. Theres always some sort of drama for a group uploading a series on here or even elsewhere that always sound like a fight between high school girls and when I read disclosures on someones take of the situation it turns out to not even be that serious as everyone makes it out to be.

It's funny to me that besides a quip saying "you're so angry lol," the scanlator chose not to address my points. People say I feel entitled to 2 translations; however I feel I am being selfless in my stance to suggest you discontinue this work. You obviously don't enjoy it and I'm not going to encourage you to keep going for my own greedy devouring of the literature at the cost of your time and effort. I'd also be losing out on 2 translations and only having 1. You hang chapters over our heads by uploading for the first time in months in a mere 24-48 hours after someone else uploads, just to inject your unneeded input and contribution. If you had the ability to upload a chapter, why not earlier? Why wait for the mass dump to say "hey I'm still relevant!"? The conclusion an average viewer like myself might reach is you just plain didn't want to. For the record, I do not buy into the possibility that you very coincidentally managed to find time in this small window when you could not find time in the months leading up to it. So I'm offering the advice you're probably too afraid to hear and admit. Move on with your life.

Going to just add a chapter comment here, the discussion can continue ignoring this since I'm staying out of this.

Since chapter 12 has been there for a while, it's nice seeing the bridge to that with this chapter. Akira is leaning more on Rumi for support and leads to why they so desperately want to stay with her going forward, to the point they will deal with having uncertain feelings about their gender if they can still be with her.

@urugiru I'm so glad you chose to continue. I felt awful after I thought my posts on 4chan convinced someone to do the bulk upload of Smiley's translations. I dont usually get involved with stuff online and for things to backfire in such a magnanimous way after dipping my toes in the water sucked. I just really like this manga and want to see it blossom. It's a shame that there is so much drama in the comments now, but I think itll die down. Dont let these bullying accusations discourage you. I will look forward to both you and Smiley's uploads in the future.

If the two groups are willing to work together, why not do joint releases for the new chapters while (also jointly) fixing the old ones? (and replace theold ones as you fix them)

I think that would yield the best results for everyone

To be honest, I prefer the new agreement better. The fact that releases had stalled and release time was so long wasn't benefiting anyone. It was weird to read 34 chapters all at once, but I am glad the manga is up to date now, even if SmileyGuy translations have issues.
Keep up the good work, I will make sure to check both releases.

If you continue, I would read your ver. if available just because TL quality is better, esp. when I want to re-read. Since most manga release monthly, people do forgot about things and definitely would re-read manga to refresh their memories. So don't worry about viewership. Quality speak for itself. So to be honest I prefer this way since you are 30++ ch. behind. So I would read smiley for latest ch. and would read your ver. ( only if available, since to be frank you're still at ch.11 at this moment when I wrote this comment. ) when I want to re-read or I forgot something. Since my JP is not that good, It took too much time just to read 1 page, so I glad for both group's works. I myself re-read a lot cause either I bored or forgot about things. Finally, and hopefully this is not your last TL for this manga, Thanks for the TL.

Thank you, urugiru, for your decision to keep translating Until I Become Me. You work and commitment are very important to myself, as well as other fans, I am sure. I am creating and editing a Wiki on FANDOM about the manga Until I Become Me
( https://until-i-become-me.fandom.com/wiki/Until_I_Become_Me_Wiki ). I had originally planned on using only your translation for the Wiki chapters, and none other. However, the releases were so long in coming, that I thought that it may take forever to do this Wiki. However, when Smiley's run-of-the-mill versions went up on Mangadex, I devised an alternate plan. I will use the Smiley versions as a 'rough draft' of the Wiki chapters, and when your versions are posted, urugiru, I will go back and completely rework and revise the chapters, based on your more accurate translation. I hope this becomes an equitable arrangement. My best wishes go out to the both of you, urugiru, and Smiley, for cooperation in the translation of this most interesting and intriguing manga.
