It certainly does seem like Ruby is heading towards redemption. I wonder if Ruby will redeem herself by sacrificing herself to defeat the Spirit Dragon mentioned in the previous chapter. I can't really imagine Ruby integrating herself back into Lloyd's social circle after all of what had happened so it's either she dies fighting or else redeems herself in the eyes of Lloyd and then goes elsewhere to start anew.

Ruby has two paths now, redemption or the new demon lord. It would be funnier is she tries and fail to become the demon lord.

Why not both? Redeeming herself by improving the lives of those demons and changing them into a functional and peaceful civilisation and becoming their new sort-of leader because of it.

I think this chapter shows she has the mindset of "for me to triumph, everyone else is trash and must fail", not that uncommon on some circles or parts of the IRL world. Whether she manages to outgrow it remains to be seen.

Let's be real folks, Ruby is as important to the story and Lloyd's development as Lloyd our MAIN CHARACTER is! The end results is meant LARGELY for Lloyd then her, but if she at LEAST acknowledges her wrongs and apologizes and atones to him. That would go a long way for him! She traumatized him, he got to see the person who has been his only family turn into a monster! Wouldn't be shocked if that was the same with Ezekiel! That the Demon Lord USE to be someone she had GREAT loyality and would die for, but like Ruby, she ABUSED that trust, bending and BENDING that "BOND" because she like Ruby was "SO SURE Ez wouldn't EVER turn on her!" and whatever they had in the past, is GONE! Unlike Lloyd who was TERRIFIED of Ruby FORCING him back! Ezekiel instead only believed her only root to happiness is KILLING THAT BITCH WITH HER OWN HANDS! Which was WHY she became ENRAGED with Lloyd who she saw as a COMRADE IN ARMS having ABUSIVE people they trust do HORRIBLE THINGS WITHOUT REMORSE to them willing to "move on without at LEAST getting revenge on HIS TORMENTER and REJECT her wish for an ALLIANCE where they'd BOTH work to DESTROY their tormentor, that respect STILL remaining despite getting in her way though she kind of DID go after him during the last arc because she was more ENRAGED he chose "to remain a WIMP by not picking HER PATH of seeking REVENGE! Likely KNOWING that was ONE of many options she had now FREE of the BITCH LORD and hating Ruby even MORE because she's EXACTLY like the demon lord (literally we saw her in Ez flashbacks of her, the bitch looked like Ruby with wings and horns along with the SAME unpleasant disposition!)

I feel Ruby's issues is she CIRCEJERKED herself into HATING Lloyd out of FEAR of their past, note she RAN from the room when she got FLASHBACKS of the Orphanage in how the other demons talked just like the Orphans back then. Her fear is "being a loser" seeing ANY acceptance of "their lot" as just "giving up!" She didn't WANT to just be a TOOL for some NOBLE to look GOOD while thinking she was a "knuckledragger who didn't know any better!" But like what was said about DUTCH in Red Dead Redemption! Feels like she "just wanted to BE those people she looks down on, HATES and wants to "show them up!" Note in her other flashback among those congratulating and sucking up to her, was the Noble lady daughter who's family owned the orphanage! Felt like HER sucking up to her BOOSTED her ego since she wasn't "some commoner orphan who existed to be EXPLOITED" but now "someone SHE has to look up to!" She DOES care for Lloyd, it just came to her becoming ABUSIVE in what likely was "the first attempt to SCARE him into standing up for himself" which he FAILED everytime till it became ROUTINE and she convinced herself she did nothing wrong! She never even BOTHERED to realize he LOVED those things BECAUSE they were memories of THEIR CHILDHOOD TOGETHER! As she had ASSOCIATED everything of that period as "being treated as LESSER and non-important!" but never noted how horrid SHE became even MORE then those she hated.

Feels like the parts of her that wanted to look out for Lloyd and the parts that resented Lloyd for not thinking the same as her and still being DENSE on "the past" made her 100% DENSE of her own bad behavior till she started RUINING what was WORKING FOR HER AND HER RELATIONSHIP
