There's a bunch of complaints about axes but I thought it was about the right length for what it was, to be honest (a slightly ecchi proto-harem with a mildly humorous fantasy setup, carried mostly by moderately likable characters).

If they wanted to drag it out longer there would have to have been ongoing character development to make it decent and/or anything other than just episodes of rinse-and-repeat, but hardly anyone has any character development in this, so I'm not sure that would have happened. Whatever it would have been, "the plot goes somewhere," probably wasn't on the table as an option.

Really good, ended too soon. It'd do well as an anime, if they could stretch the content out into a full season.

Could have been another volume long, but it ended before it got tiring so its still a good ending in my book.

I gotta agree with MobileCrusader on this, it ended maybe one volume early but its a good " and the adventures continue" kind of ending that i prefer...

This was good... Maybe 1 or 2 volumes more wouldn't have been bad, no just one more would have felt more appropriate.

For an axe, the ending was quite good. That's assuming it was actually axed, of course, since I didn't see anything officially saying either way and if you told me it wasn't I'd believe it. Felt like there was potential or intent for at least another volume or two, such as in chapter 9 where
the exorcist hinted at having more depth to her character and the sister having clear past-involved potential for character development.

Overall, glad I read it despite normally hating to read series that get sudden, axed endings.

Yeah, this was definitely axed. Too many new characters in the last chapter for no reason and the fact it ended on Volume 2 (manga typically ends around Volume 3. Volume 4 or more is considered a success, but Volume 2 is considered average at best. Japanese editors, man...)

All in all, though, for an axed manga it was pretty good. Had potential and it was pretty obvious the mangaka had more they wanted to do, but it's not up to them, unfortunately.

I didn't really like it, Mist was annoying and I think it would have been way better had they just dropped the romance and went in for just comedy. The wasted all their potential trying to turn this into a romance when it had a much better skeleton for comedy. The chapter where he is trying to figure out if the guy is a demon or not, was really funny! I only kept on reading the second volume cause I knew I was close to the end.
